My niece has recently done her driving lessons with Tony Kear at Plate Smashers Reading and I cannot speak strongly enough for how despicable this company is. On one occasion they were caught in traffic 15+ miles from her house so her lesson ran over, as a result the instructor saw fit to charge her for the extra time AND drop her off at train station as he had to get home for his dinner!! This was a 17 year old girl that he put at risk for his dinner! On the day of the driving test she clipped a kerb and took a piece of the car tire out, she was charge £60 in repairs despite him having insurance. We have spoken with the test center and they agree that this is out of line and have suggested we contact the ADI which we will be doing today. Tony was a superb instructor who made me relaxed and confident on the road. He always answered my questions even though I repeated them many times!He was so polite and patient with a great sense of humour. he also imparted some great driving tips which I use today (side mirrors ;0)) I've passed my test on the second attempt even though before I didn't even know how to ride a bike! No more stress on the roundabouts thanks to Tony who gave me great advice. I can go anywhere I want now with my car. Thanks so much Tony :0) Rene Read Less
