It was a dreadful experience learning to drive with her. Being a very nervous person myself, she really made it worse. It was like a self-torture paying your own money and spending a lot your time, just to be verbally abused by her, losing your confidence. I seriously do not think she should be teaching any human being at all. I took 3 unsuccessful practical driving tests with her. She made me 5 minutes late for the very first test, making me practice to turn around the corner(I was very nervous and it was literally 5minutes before the actual test), then she was trying to find an umbrella that doesn't exists in her car for me. The examiner was waiting for me at the test centre. In about 2 minutes after I started the test, the front tyre got busted as I turned the tight corner and the test had to be terminated because of it. She seemed to bear a grudge on me since then. She asked for my contribution for a new tyre, saying I didn't have to but I should. I didn't have much option, so I paid half of it. But in my mind, I was thinking,' Shouldn't she have some sort of insurance scheme for such common incidents as a driving instructor??'. I know I should have stopped taking her lessons. But I was getting familiar with her car, and thought it will be a hassle switching to another instructor and another car. So I rebooked another test with her. I had so much trouble getting another date because she said she is not available on Mondays, and Tuesdays of every week ,and she made things really difficult. It is almost like she had some sort of power over this , and she enjoys being in control. When I had my practice lessons with her, it's like a nightmare, nagging about one thing after another. Nothing makes her happy. I feel like it is more of a priority not to get told off by her than to pass the actual test, for I know exactly what kind of demeaning , repetitive words will come from her. Every lesson with her was a horrible drag. At first I thought she meant it for my safety, my best interest, which I did not mind. As time goes on it sounds more like a verbal, emotional abuse. Again, I failed the second test, with her nagging all the way to the next test ,' I shouldn't be doing it by now, it is very stupid, this and that' which is not the right thing to do right before your test. I did not pass , but had only very few minor mistakes. The third test was the most horrifying thing she did to me. She did not even give me a chance to take the test. On that morning, she picked me up, looking like she had a bad hangover the night before. I knew, it's going to be hell then. I made sure I asked her opinion if I should practice more for a while before I rebooked this one. She said it was a good idea to keep taking the test until I pass, to keep it going. While I was driving to the test centre, she started saying 'Do you think you are ready?' 'Do you feel you are really confident today?' and so on, just to irritate me. And it goes on, until I get really agitated and fed up that I couldn't practice the manoeuvres very well. I started making one mistake after another as the insults went on and on. Then one point(about 15min before the test) , she told me to stop the car and said she didn't think it's a good idea for me to take the test today, as she didn't think I could do it, and it will be her problem as an instructor. She was playing 'I'm the instructor, that is my car' card. I reasoned with her to give me this chance, as I am sure I won't be like that with the examiner. She said she'd give me 5 more minute to change her mind, but took me to a parking space where she definitely knows I can't do it. There it went. She drove me back home, saying she can't let me drive her car to take the test, and said she was willing to contribute some compensation towards my test fees(£25) she paid me back. It was such a nightmare, and the whole horrific experience with her keep coming back to me. It makes me really angry inside, not because of the driving test, but because the way she treated me. Can someone really do that to a person like she did? Read Less
