I did my driving lessons with Ashwani and I can confidently say that he is an excellent instructor, very attentive and patient. He offers a wealth of experience and a lot of practical tips that will help you become a good driver quickly. I would happily recommend him to anyone learning to drive. I am also very happy with the school overall. The theory classes are a bit dry, but they run on time and offer a lot of useful content. The driving component is good, as well. The website makes it easy to schedule, reschedule, and cancel classes. The only challenge is that it is hard to book instructors for convenient times, so you might have to do some of your classes during work hours, which might not work for everyone. Read Less

My experience with Canadian Tire's driving school was great and I encourage other novice drivers to try it out. To start off, the in-class sessions were informative. The class size was around 20 people and the ages ranged all the way from 16 to 40. As long as you pay attention during class, the tests should be fairly easy for you. The in-car sessions were also very enjoyable. I had Michael as my instructor and he was a pleasure to drive with. Not only was he very knowledgeable, but he also was fun to talk to and learn from. Michael also would show up early to the lessons (5-20 min), which allowed us to start early and thus finish earlier. The only thing I suggest as an improvement is I wished we hadn’t drove on the same roads/route (or very similar) every session. It would’ve been nice to get more experience in other areas of Toronto. However, as most drivers taking these courses are new, I can see why it is done this way. Overall I was very pleased with my experience with Canadian Tire's driving school! Read Less

I did a refresher lesson with Tassy prior to taking my G1 road test and she was incredible! She asked me what I wanted to focus on (parallel parking) and we spent the whole lesson working on that (unlike other instructors who insist on working through a checklist of skills). On the day of the test, Tassy went out of her was to put me at ease. I am confident that I would not have passed on the first try without her! Canadian Tire Drivers Academy was not in existence when I obtained my first G1. I used Young Drivers driving school and didn't pass my road test. I left very discouraged and really had no interest in driving. So discouraged that I let my first G1 expire. That changed after we found out about Canadian Tire Drivers Academy. My brother went through first and had first time success on both his road tests. I took the in-class lessons in January and today, I successfully obtained my G2 license. Many thanks need to go to my instructor, Joel. I had no interest in driving when I first started and I now kick my parents out of the drivers seat so I can drive. He had patience and gave me the confidence I needed after my last experience. Coupled with a very interactive four day in-class course, I received 10 hours of in-car training with my driving instructor. All staff were very professional, informative, welcoming, and encouraging. If you begin these driving lessons with minimal experience you can expect to gain confidence and greatly develop your skills through the extensive and consistent practice instilled in the courses format.
