DO NOT USE THE COMPANY UNLESS YOU WILLING TO BE RIPPED OFF, used their service twice, the second time was horrible, I signed up for 2 hours plus road test. 1. The price I was quoted on the phone was too high, I had paid similar for 5 hours and road test, later when I questioned the person mentioned mistake and quoted me a lower figure which was still only 60$ difference for 3 less hours. The problem do not end there, I paid for 2 hours of training which I did not receive, the driver kept asking me to come to far away locations to practice. The first class I had was 50mins, then second hour, the driver asked me to come to King and Parliament where he would pick up later over call he told me that I should come earlier so we can practice before heading to the test centre and that I would have to pay him 45$ extra, when I asked why he said it is because I will be used him time, when I refused, I spent my one hour of road test practice driving to the test center, if I had only booked the cost for the road test and not practice would I have been told to directly come, my understanding was it was a price of the high price I paid for the rental, I felt truly cheated and HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE. This is an honest review of my experience with AMB driving school. So far my experience with this company has been poor and I would NOT recommend it to anyone else because, though the theory portion is great, to really learn how to drive a car you have to actually get IN a car. I attended the school on Nugget Avenue for a 4-day course mid-July 2017.... The in-class portion was good. However, I have spent the last MONTH texting/calling my driving instructor, the in class supervisor, and the manager trying to book my in-car portion of the course. No luck so far. For this reason, I have given the school a 1* rating. I have contacted (so far): -The driving instructor Nasim (no response) -the in-class instructor Saqib (referred to the manager) -the office ("we'll get back to you" ) -the manager (in progress) Note: If anything changes in these circumstances I will adjust this review based on the in-car experience. It’ll likely be similar to the in-class review below. Hopefully, that time comes soon. In-class As I said before, the in-class is great. Instructor: My instructor’s name was Saqib. He’s very approachable and willing to answer any questions you may have. He provides ample time for breaks so you can stretch your legs and refresh your brain. He also tries to make the class content fun to learn by using jokes, in class games, and real-life scenarios. The class: You sit at a desk in a classroom like setting. The instructor flips through PowerPoint slides. The slides are very easy to understand and are sometimes interactive. At points, there are also videos to better illustrate what you're learning. Also, there are 2 quizzes per day that help ensure your paying attention in class. According to the instructor, no cell phones are allowed at any time (other than break) or you may be asked to leave. We were warned of this on the first day of class and everyone listened. Day 1: • Attitude Skills Knowledge • Types of licenses • Demert points • Reasons for various laws • Types of signs • Overview of the circle-check • Gear review • Blind-spot review • Smith system review Day 2 • How your eyes work (peripheral vision) • MSB • Space cushion • Hazards • Risk management • City/country/freeway driving • Intersections • Turns • Other road users • Entering/exiting intersections Day 3 • Crashing -collision vs. accidents • Safety features in car • When to call 911 • What to do at a crash scene • Drinking and driving • Drugs and drowsy driving Day 4 • Adverse driving conditions • Headlight usage • Night vs. Day driving • Advances front lighting system • Driving in Rain, snow, fog, sun • Vehicle purchase • Car Maintenance • Vehicle insurance basics See More Read Less

Quick shout-out to Bob Karmakar who has been my in-class instructor at Broadview location, you've been amazing! I signed up for the 4 day package that includes 20 hours of in-class, 10 hours of in-car plus an extra hour of in-car training and the use of instructor's car on the day of the test. So far I've completed the 20 hours of class in 4 days, and I've gotta say the classes were very smooth; they weren't boring at all as you'd expect from 5 hours of class each day (Note: there are breaks in between, so don't worry if you go hungry during the session, you can go for Timmy's or McDonald's during the breaks). The classes were quick and efficient, teaching you what you needed to know and some tips here and there to succeed at the actual driving test. The instructor was very pleasant and nice (at least for me), so you don't have to be worried if you're behind or don't understand something, you just need to ask and they'll help you right up. Best part is, it's only 4 days of class so you can go back to sleeping in after the sessions are over (and you feel somewhat accomplished for waking up early and taking 5 hours of class everyday). Do note though, 4 days are only for the class sessions, the whole package takes longer depending on when you can complete the in-car training (you will need to set up appointments with the driving instructor). Overall, the experience was fantastic and I'd recommend this driving school to any novice drivers who want to get their G2 and G license along with the insurance discount. I'm definitely coming back for G license. P.S. If you miss a class, you do not need to worry because you can go back for the missed class the week after (Technically, you got 6 months to complete the course, but I'd recommend getting it over with asap). If you have driving experience this school is fine for certificate for insurance and stuff like that.If you don't, it could be a very bad experience with Indian instructors explaining things in a way that can't be very well understood if you are not a native speaker yourself. Disappointing I would not recommend, had used this for my daughter. Although the in class sessions were great, AMB relies on their instructors to arrange the 1-1 driving lessons.  The first instructor did not return any messages so asked for another driver after 2 weeks of no response.  The second instructor has limited time available, only one night every 2 weeks it seems.  My daughter has only taken 1 driving lesson in one month.  Waiting for her other lesson and they try to push you to take 2 hour lessons. Strongly recommend that you use another school.  I guess this is why they ask you to pay in cheque or cash as there is no recourse for refunds. Read Less

I chose this school because of the reviews of Faheem, who was fantastic. I should have paid more attention to the negative reviews of the in-car instructors. I'm on my third instructor in over four months and I've only managed 7 1/2 hours of driving time. The first instructor they gave me wouldn't pick me up from the west side of the city. Second instructor took weeks to return texts/calls and would only book one lesson at a time, a week or more in advance, cancelled frequently, and was late. My third and final in-car instructor had me drive him around the city running his errands, was heavy on the horn, and had to stop for smoke breaks. Six hours in-car with him and I still haven't parallel parked or backed in to a parking spot (although he asked me to switch seats so he could demonstrate how). This school has completely turned me off driving. Horrible. Read Less

Close to impossible to communicate with their drivers. The school just gives a random driver your phone number and he/she will contact you when he feels like it. I had to deal with 4 different instructors and they all choose not to reply when you ask for different times. Additionally, they do NOT do pick ups downtown. The supervisor does not even know where Spadina and Queens Quay is in relation to Yonge and Bloor - pretty basic information for a DOWNTOWN driving school. Read Less

Malik is a great in class instructor, he's funny and engaging and has entertaining stories to brighten up a dull topic.  But beware if you get the in car instructor Khyber (pronounced Hyber) He is the most unprofessional, rude, demanding person, changing your lesson time without asking you, basically just demanding it like you owe him something.  He also has terrible personal hygiene, he smells bad in the summer, picks his nose, and clips his nasty fingernails in the car! MORE than once! How disgusting! Should have asked to change instructors but I was only mildly irritated in the beginning and only turned to pure hatred in the last couple of classes. He also pressures you to do 2 hour classes instead of 1 hour classes even though you're completely entitled to do 1 hour classes. Stay away. Read Less

As another of my wife's projects she's decided that I need to learn to drive (legally) despite working downtown and being a short 30 min bus & train ride from workWhile I was skeptical at best of what to expect for the in-class portion of this particular driving school I've pressed ahead Currently I am 2 days into a 4 day course (to be completed next weekend) to complete the 20 hours in-class the Ministry of Transportation requires (they are tough on road laws yet there are so many horrible drivers on the road #justsaying)Considering I have an extremely short attention span and I live in my phone going phone-less for 6 hours a day and learning about road signs doesn't exactly sound like the best use of ones weekend Our instructor Malik has come across as engaging funny and truly a joy to listen to. Coming from some one who has attended hundreds of corporate training sessions he has set the bar really high for what I expect of my in-car experience.In-class there are quizzes tests and several opportunities to interact with other persons in the class. While the venue isn't anything top notch or ascetically pleasing you have to remember the reason you are there - the location doesn't have to be held at the Hilton.Regarding the price the package I have selected covers 10 hours in-car and 20 hours in-class for a total of $399.00 including tax. Should you wish to use their car for the driving test that option is available for an additional $145.00 While I still remain a tad bit skeptical of the industry as a whole I have enjoyed Malik's engaging teaching style and the persons in this particular class greatly. I might even have gained some enthusiasm for becoming a 'real driver' #thankyouwife #ambdrivingschool Read Less

So far my experience with this company has been poor and I would NOT recommend it to anyone else because, though the theory portion is great, to really learn how to drive a car you have to actually get IN a car. Such hands-on skill could be tricky to teach  if you are struggling with the driving while the instructor is busy giving you unclear instructions and feedback about things happened two minutes ago.
