Young Drivers of Canada is Canada’s largest driver training organization. Since 1970, YD has grown to 140+ classrooms and we continue to love what we do. YD has taught over 1 million novice drivers through our proprietary Young Drivers Collision free! Approach to Driving™ Program. YD is not just about novice drivers though. We also offer driver improvement, retesting, fleet driver training & Elearning. Our Ottawa franchise has 5 classroom locations providing driver training courses from Orleans to Kanata. Our novice driver training course is designed for first time drivers. We also offer programs for licensed drivers seeking to improve their driving skills and become collision free drivers.

As a more mature new driver, I was hesitant about taking a driving course – how I would fit in surrounded by young students in the classroom and how I would be judged behind the wheel during my training (I had just learned brake from gas when I started and was still reminding myself which was which!). I had heard horror stories about what instructors could be like with older students, but my instructor (Cody Real) emphasized the benefits of learning at a later age and had the perfect balance of patience, encouragement and coaching to give me what I needed to feel confident behind the wheel. He pushed me enough to keep making progress, but not so much that I would take on too much too quickly. I highly recommend additional lessons to practice with an instructor as well - I was even picked-up at the office during lunch breaks for the extra sessions! It was also a pleasant experience in the classroom – both the students and the instructor made me feel welcome and neither made me feel like it was anything unusual for me to be there. The office staff were of great assistance figuring out the best packages and the best schedule for my needs - they were very quick to respond to any inquiry. Young Driver’s was a wonderful experience overall, and I would recommend their courses to anyone.

The instructors & office staff were amazing ! As a senior my wife & I felt that a safety review would be a good idea as a refresher . The classroom portion & the road test was very professional . This gave us more confidence & comfort on the roads & expressways . A big thanks to Young Drivers Ottawa !

I have nothing but incredible things to say about Young Drivers! I was looking to get my G license after having my G2 for a few years, and Young Drivers was so helpful from the time I called to set up some lessons to the time I did my road test! I had Aaron as my instructor in Ottawa. He was such a great teacher, and really spent lots of time with me going over things that I was particularly nervous about (such as highway/freeway driving). Aaron and the rest of the team at Young Drivers were consistently patient, supportive and professional. I would highly recommend them to anyone! :) I'm so much more confident in my driving skills and very glad to have finally gotten my G license - thank you Aaron and YD!

I had a great experience learning to drive with YD. I enjoyed their program, and think the price reflects the quality. I was told by police officers that this is the BEST school to go with if you want...
I had a great experience learning to drive with YD. I enjoyed their program, and think the price reflects the quality. I was told by police officers that this is the BEST school to go with if you want to get a good foundation and learn the right driving habits. Shout out to Matt Haddad for helping me along the way to getting my G2! I was such a nervous driver I thought I would never get to this point, but here I am. Would highly recommend to every new driver or anyone needing to brush up on skills.

Young drivers is a great way to get into driving without much of a risk. Young drivers also provides an opportunity to simulate G2 test driving which is great for those who don't know what it's like.

As a more mature new driver, I was hesitant about taking a driving course – how I would fit in surrounded by young students in the classroom and how I would be judged behind the wheel during my training (I had just learned brake from gas when I started and was still reminding myself which was which!). I was told by police officers that this is the BEST school to go with if you want to get a good foundation and learn the right driving habits.
