DO NOT USE THIS SCHOOL. Our son took their course during COVID when they were only offering online and in-car training. He wrote the final exam and completed the in-car training and we thought that everything was great. He now has his G2, but when we asked the school for the certificate to apply against our insurance we were told that he failed to complete 2 1/2 hours of online homework and so couldn't get a certificate because his allotted time to complete the course had expired. While some of the responsibility lies with our son for failing to finish the homework, COVID was a unique time and businesses were expected to adapt their processes, especially when dealing with 16-18 year old teenagers, to ensure that nothing fell through the cracks. The school should have been monitoring the progress of their students and sending out notifications or reminders when training was not complete, which they didn't. Norham, who initially took our call, told us that several families were in the same situation, so obviously there was an issue with their website instructions and it wasn't just our son. We were advised to call the MoT to get a letter of extension but when we called we were told that there was no such thing and that the onus was on the school . When we called back and asked to speak with a Supervisor at the school, Norham told us that there was no need as she would tell us the exact same thing. We had to argue for 10 minutes just to get her supervisor's name, only to find out that she was off sick and that the Owner was unavailable to take a call. Terrible customer service! Hannah, the supervisor, eventually got back to us after 2 weeks of repeated calls but the most they would offer was to allow him to retake the course at a discounted rate of $600. They took absolutely zero responsibility!! So after spending over $800 he has to take the training all over again, but this time it will be with a reputable company!!

On my way to get the full G , i have been in some Drive Lessons with coach Zaid and he was very effective to teach me what was needed to pas à the test . I got it at the first try , thanks Zaid.

I had such a great experience with Ottawa Driving School. I contacted them for 'refresher lessons' as my G2 was expiring and I felt that I needed some tips on how to obtain my G successfully. I had the instructor named Micheal - he was absolutely fantastic. I passed my G first try! Thank you so much Micheal!

I took driving lessons here years ago, and I found the lessons to be very helpful. I know Ray, the owner, personally and he is a very kind and personable man. He is also very passionate about driving and has an amazing amount of knowledge and experience in the industry. When I finished my course and took my exam I passed on the first try. I was shown tricks that I still use to this day and they work every time. If you want your drivers licence, I recommend that you go to Ottawa Driving School.

I have to agree with the review by a female student last week. After reading her review I was reminded of the same unpleasant experience with this well known driving school. The owner who was my in- class instructor was so unprofessional. I paid for and trusted that this driving school and its instructors would teach me to be a confident and safe driver BUT the complete opposite happened. I was a very nervous driver and trusted that this school will help alleviate and make me feel comfortable with driving but it did not.
The in class instructor talked about his life and I totally understand how uncomfortable the other female felt. His comments about woman were always sexual comments and showed his lack of class and integrity and RESPECT !.
I LEARNED NOTHING FROM THE IN CLASS. I think the same in car instructor did the same to me but I was fortunate in that I never made it into the car with her as she MISSED MY APPOINTMENTS AS WELL!.
Other instructors yelled and spoke little ENGLISH.....not sure how they expect to teach if they are not proficient with the English language!
THE Owner seems to think his school is the best but he needs a wake up call!
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL TO ANYONE.
Pity I have to give a 1 star would rather give no star!!!!!!!!

I searched long & hard for a school to come to that would teach me everything I needed to know to get my G2. I’m 26 & was terrified of driving for the longest time. Once I spoke to someone at this school, I decided to give it a shot & I'm so glad I did! Not only was the class actually enjoyable (I heard it could be a real drag) the in-car instructor helped me overcome my nerves & I learned so much that I really never thought I would. I did my G2 test last week & I passed! Thank you ODS!!!

I was a driving instructor for ten years working for young drivers and d.t.s.m. I was also a driving examiner for drivetest for eight years .When it came time to retire from drivetest I wanted to get working as a instructor again ,having a choice of all the driving schools in ottawa to work with I chose OTTAWA DRIVING SCHOOl because of the Quality of students it produces and the hands on ownership of the school. As a former examiner I know that the majority of the students do very well on there driving tests ( 90% pass rate ) I highy recommend this school to anyone...

Awesome school!!! I just completed the full course and everything went smoothly! The office staff was very friendly and a HUGE help! The instructor that taught in the class was funny, kept the class entertained and I learned a lot from him! The instructor in the car was brilliant and helped me pass my test on the first try! I absolutely love Ottawa Driving School and will recommend them to everybody! It was inexpensive especially considering the service that was provided! I would have even paid more just to go with them! Everyone there was very knowledgeable and they care about their clients success! It was worth every penny

My teens went to this school and after 5 years, are totally accident free. I'm about to enrol my youngest who's just turned 16. The tools and lessons learned with this school last a lifetime. My kids ...
My teens went to this school and after 5 years, are totally accident free. I'm about to enrol my youngest who's just turned 16. The tools and lessons learned with this school last a lifetime. My kids have common sense when it comes to driving a vehicle and I don't worry about them one bit - even when they drive to friends cottages or downtown Montreal.

DO NOT USE THIS SCHOOL. Our son took their course during COVID when they were only offering online and in-car training. He wrote the final exam and completed the in-car training and we thought that everything was great. He now has his G2, but when we asked the school for the certificate to apply against our insurance we were told that he failed to complete 2 1/2 hours of online homework and so couldn't get a certificate because his allotted time to complete the course had expired. While some of the responsibility lies with our son for failing to finish the homework, COVID was a unique time and businesses were expected to adapt their processes, especially when dealing with 16-18 year old teenagers, to ensure that nothing fell through the cracks. I took driving lessons here years ago, and I found the lessons to be very helpful. I know Ray, the owner, personally and he is a very kind and personable man. He is also very passionate about driving and has an amazing amount of knowledge and experience in the industry. When I finished my course and took my exam I passed on the first try. I have to agree with the review by a female student last week. After reading her review I was reminded of the same unpleasant experience with this well known driving school. The owner who was my in- class instructor was so unprofessional. I searched long & hard for a school to come to that would teach me everything I needed to know to get my G2. I’m 26 & was terrified of driving for the longest time. Once I spoke to someone at this school, I decided to give it a shot & I'm so glad I did! Not only was the class actually enjoyable (I heard it could be a real drag) the in-car instructor helped me overcome my nerves & I learned so much that I really never thought I would. I did my G2 test last week & I passed! Thank you ODS!!!

Awesome school!!! I just completed the full course and everything went smoothly! The office staff was very friendly and a HUGE help! The instructor that taught in the class was funny, kept the class entertained and I learned a lot from him! The instructor in the car was brilliant and helped me pass my test on the first try! My teens went to this school and after 5 years, are totally accident free. I'm about to enrol my youngest who's just turned 16. The tools and lessons learned with this school last a lifetime.
