At 5:15pm yesterday (Easter Sunday) I was a pedestrian crossing Marine Drive at Patterson in Burnaby. As I waited at the curb I saw a vehicle approaching the stop sign driving westbound. As I always do, I kept a careful eye on it as I began crossing the crosswalk. This vehicle slowed, and as I was about 1 1/2 strides from crossing in front of it, it suddenly accelerated right past me, blowing through the stop sign. The driver did not once look at me as I came to an abrupt stop. The appalled look on the face of the motorist behind him said it all. As the car drove past me (with single male occupant) I read the clear lettering on the vehicle: ALERT DRIVING SCHOOL. Read Less
