I took YD Drivers GLP Program Automatic at their North Vancouver branch in fall 2016. I am a new driver and wanted proper training for ICBC class 7 road test. The course was great. Most important the instructor that was teaching it had ~30 years of experience and was able to explain the material in short and easy to understand way. The classroom sessions took place on weekday’s evenings. There was 7 students total in the classroom which was great. The theoretical part itself was intense and very useful. We went through different road situations and analyzed videos, photos and newspaper articles. Also being a safe driver was addressed a lot like driving when you are stressed/angry, peer pressure, impaired driving. Every second session had a test based on material we've learned and in the end there was a final test. The in-car lessons were very valuable. I never drove before and my instructor taught me in an efficient and fun way. He made me a confident driver. Also part of the in-car lessons were emergency maneuvers that are worth taking even as a stand-alone lesson because they are so good. Me and my instructor pushed the limits of the car to learn how anti-lock braking system and skid control works and what the best ways to avoid collisions are. The course was well worse the money and I am very happy with it. Read Less

We paid almost $2000 for class and lessons for my son. It's been almost 3 months. We finally heard back from a scheduler today to be told that it will be at least 2 more months before they can schedule an instructor him. They took our money without actually having the capacity to provide the lessons. I'm fighting with them now to try and get our money back. What a nightmare! Read Less

North Vancouver - School will take your money, and all the extras you pay for manual transmission and road test prep but will not meet minimum standards of customer service. School had inadequate manual transmission instructors resulting in lesson-planning challenges. This can result in the 365 day rule of course completion in order to test early for the road test. There will be confusing certification mailed out but will not be worth the paper the certificate is printed on as ICBC will not recognize it. Be careful, do your homework, do not expect anything more than a cash-grab mediocre business that has drastically gone downhill over the years. Contact was made to clarify an issue with Young Drivers dropping the ball but the concerns were met with "canned" responses. Proof of due-diligence was requested but could not be furnished by Young Drivers. Expect to work with ICBC in order to be recognized by this school via appeals. Correspondence and support is close to non-existent throughout sessions. Get everything in writing. Do not rely on phone conversations with this company, or better yet, save your money and frustration. Find a reputable school that will actually do more than cash your cheques. Read Less
