Before I get into my review, I would just like to open it saying that the "Sara Kaigon" you see down there, actually works at Valley Driving School. Kind of suspicious to have someone that works there writing a review for its own workplace, isn't it?
My experience at Valley Driving School was terrible. Bellow, find the email I've sent (adjusted to make sense as a review) to Valley Driving School (with no reply whatsoever):
After taking the class, I wanted to provide some feedback about the class format, but mainly about the instructor. Sorry in advance about the long email, I just want to be as detailing (and fair) as possible.
As soon as I met the instructor, he was plain rude, and simply too blunt to start with. Within 5 minutes of meeting him, he had already "insulted" my country twice, and mocked my english two other times. Honestly, I wasn't expecting to be treated this way, out of the blue. The instructor (whose name I forgot) said, among other things:
"Oh so you are from Brazil? This (canada) is probably way better, coming from a third world country"
"This bike is probably a Cadillac in a third world country like Brazil, right? Actually every bike is probably a Cadillac there" (he was referring to my new bike)
"Sorry, my english isn't as good as yours..." (Mocking me for missing a word during your talk prior to the class)
Don't get me wrong, I am far from being one of these people that complain about everything. I am far too flexible, open and I would understand if he was simply playing with me, but he wasn't. English isn't my first language, but I have no problem understanding sarcasm, poor taste jokes or anything of that kind.
Other than the instructor problem, the class format itself isn't that helpful to be honest. For 100 bucks an hour, I was expecting to have some sort of "intercom" system (which costs like $300 bucks for the pair, which should be a minor cost to Valley Driving School), but instead I was told to drive around while I was being watched, and then, to follow the instructor around and watch him.
You should truly consider investing in a "intercom" system at least, to allow for a better communication between instructor and student during the classes. Not only it saves time from the student (that has to stop and listen to the instructor for 10 minutes between every stop), but also allows the instructor to "correct" the errors he sees on the spot. Instead, the "review" part of the class goes like: "Do you remember that turn left you did 17 minutes ago, near a school zone...?", which isn't that helpful.
Overall, my experience with Valley Driving School, starting with the instructor (whose is my main concern) all the way to the classes, was just plain bad Read Less
