To start off, I'll be completely frank...the in-class lessons felt pointless, at first. Maybe it was just my experience and the teacher I had, but they were incredibly boring and I found it hard to focus because of this. It seemed like the last thing the teacher wanted to do was be there.
Come to my in-car lessons, I was a bit nervous because of the negative experience with in-class lessons. What if the instructor I got was just as unenthusiastic? That would only stress me out more. I was lucky enough to have Charles as my instructor. He was encouraging, kind, and (most importantly) enthusiastic, and did everything to up my confidence (not overly so, of course). I am overly pleased to have had him. Every mistake I made was discussed and explained, but never frowned upon or judged. While I didn't have much confidence in passing my exam, he definitely did, and, as was made apparent today upon getting my N, it was not misplaced. In the end, I was always excited for lessons and I think that's important; I'll miss them! If other instructors there are anything like him, I can't recommend these lessons enough. They totally made up for the in-class lessons while also making me realize why both sets of lessons are important to begin with. Read Less
