The instructors at IHE are fantastic. I have learned an amazing amount in a short time but beyond that they are always ready, able and willing to help. So far I have had Andy, Steve and Travis as instructors; they are all superb. When it came to something I didn’t know later on both Rosco (Another instructor) and Cory (Site supervisor) showed it to me and watched while I did it. It is truly an excellent school with a superior team and I am please and grateful to be taking part. You can ask almost anything of anyone and if you are there to learn, they are there to teach. Watch out for Rick, the classroom instructor... if you don't want life handed to you in a sandwich bag, this course may not be for you. ;) Read Less

I rarely make comments or reviews on any of the websites but I had to make an exception for this school. A few months ago I decided I needed change in my life after spending most of my career with the Canadian Armed Forces. I was exploring avenues and opted to be an Heavy Equipment Operator. Always looking for adventure, traveling from Nova Scotia, I decided to come out west and do my course here at IHE in Innisfail Alberta after hearing many good comments about this school.... I took the 10 week program and in my eighth week already. I am having a wonderful course and learning lots because of all the knowledge from the great instructors, and friendly staff (Leanne and Ron) who are always there to help you. I would recommend this establishment to anyone seeking training in this field. One thing I dislike is that time flies when you are loving what you do and learning lots. See More Read Less

Before I took their rock truck course, they told me by email that the highest demand out there is for rock truck. So I spent roughly $7000+ for that course as well as for tickets. That doesn't include living and lodging expenses. I went out looking for a job with high hopes, considering themfact they made it sound all so promising. I passed the course with flying colors. But when I was looking for work, no job offers. I did with my resume and cover letter everything that I was told to do. Everything. All the advice I was given, I followed it to the letter. No job offers. So after 3 months of job searching, I gave up and went back to the food factory I worked at before and I don't think I will be leacing there anytime soon. I only wish I did not apend 7 grand on this course. That money could've been spent on a house mortgage. Or invested in RRSP's.
I found out long after all this that most companies that hire rock truck drivers will not hire somebody they don't know. If you're an outsider, they don't want you. Read Less
