update. I should add that I understand at the time I took lessons the school had been recently bought by someone who had another driving school and I took lessons with an instructor who had been recently brought in and had lots of experience. I had taken lessons a few years before the new ownership and did not do as well. I have had a bit of a phobia about driving since my teen years and although Ive tried to get my license before now I have always ended up not going through with it. I had courses with young drivers of canada a couple of times about ten years ago. This time I had my own car and hopefully more motivation when I signed up with Airdrie Driving School in May. They have great instructors. I found they were always on time and polite and easy to deal with as well as frequently amusing. The teaching was patient and informative from both of the instructors I had lessons with. I'm very happy to have just passed my driving test on the second try after many years of not even getting as far as the test. Read Less

Having no back up records of my passing is bullshit. 800$ gone, not much learned, and no savings on insurance.

I enjoyed that the material was taught, in multiple ways to accommodate multiple learning styles.

please do NOT waste your money on this class for yourself or your children wishing to learn skills for their basic learners. This course costs close to $800 and for what? the classroom portion we literally colored and made "bumper" stickers. On top of that, our instructor sat on her phone the ENTIRE time, texting and playing on Varagesales. honestly she didnt teach us a whole lot. Had it not been for her partner helping us with our tests- (and common sense)- we probably would have failed!!! The driving portion of the was just AWFUL. First it was very unorganized getting the driving time in- 10 hours, so a course of 2 hours over 5 days- i took the course in mid March and have just finished my courses last week.... I took my road test and i have failed TWICE due to the fact of missing everything I was not taught during my drivers ed!!! How ridiculous is it that i paid a large amount of money to be taught something, and get the humiliation of failing something so simple twice for improper instruction. During my driving classes my instructor would show up 10-15 minutes late to pick me up, and when she was early- she would call me non-stop telling me to come out side (while i was trying to get finished with my shift at work). She had me parallel park twice- both of which I was not given any instruction as to if i were doing something right or wrong! how is a person to learn if there's no feedback? On top of that, my instructor made comments about her other students scaring her, or how bad of drivers they were. Once she had me pick up another student and told me to continue driving so she could "have a break before that scary driving". I personally dont think that as student drivers we should be taxiing other students around town! how awful would it be if something were to happen?! I'd also like to point out that the car they have us driving on the highway is NOT safe. It pulled to the side and I had to use all my strength to hold it straight, the breaks sounded just awful with a high pitched squeal no matter how soft or hard of a stop you do. I wish I would have done my research and gone with another company. Please do not waste your money and go with a company that is really going to enlighten you so that your first road test you pass with the utmost confidence!!! Read Less

I would not recommend Airdrie Driving School. My husband took his in class sessions during the month of March. There were 4 in class sessions in total. He really liked the instructor, he found her knowledgeable and funny. However, there were roughly 35-40 students enrolled in the class. There were not enough chairs even for everyone. They brought in folding lawn chairs to accommodate the number of students in the class. It is now mid-July and my husband still has not completed the practice driving portion of the program. He has two driving lessons to complete. They have re-booked his sessions a number of times, including this week. He was supposed to have a lesson this morning and no one has shown up. For every other lesson they arrived 10-15 minutes late. I went in to the office at the beginning of July and voiced my complaints. The lady behind the desk had just started working there. She was courteous and confirmed his appointments with me at the time. My husband has had one driving teacher who he favors. She made him feel comfortable and at ease. Overall there seems to be a lack of internal organization and communication. It is unfortunate as I like to support local businesses, but I would not recommend this driving school due to the reasons listed above.Read Less
