Was looking for a good driving school for my 16yo daughter who just passed her Learner permit test and found Melbourne Driving School on WOMO with high reviews so I thought I'd give it a go. Texted the mobile number around 8ish pm to enquire for a female driving instructor but did not get any reply. So I called up the driving school the next morning around 9am and a person named John answered the phone half awake. Even after explaining my intent on calling, this John sounded as if he doesnt care about my business and I had to sort of keep probing him for answers to my queries. He told me they do not have any female instructors as they are hard to come by. I said that's fine then and happy to consider a "good" male instructor and started asking him questions I needed answered. After few awful mins on the phone (as this person had one of the worst customer service ever, I swear to God!)  he surprised me by saying they indeed do have a female instructor. I said that's great and started asking about her availability. This John told me she is pretty much fully booked for the week and I asked when would she be available then or if he can give me her number so I can call her as John said wait whilst he check but wasnt able to tell me her availability. John said abruptly NO, that's not how they work and he would need to take my details instead. I tried giving him my details, which I thought he should have coz I texted the mobile yesterday??? Then he started questioning me why do I need to have a "female" instructor as he could have done it. He then went on and on about how "experienced" an Instructor he is and he started questioning about my Nationality! And I thought to myself "is he serious???" I told him we are Australians and he kept questioning the fact why I specifically requested a "female" instructor and went on for the next 2mins arguing with me why a "male" instructor is equally good and even when I tried convincing him that I am comfortable with a "male" instructor if they dont have a female, it is just a matter of choice and my preference, as in when I go to a Doctor, I would always request a female doctor first if they have one, and "OMG!" He started arguing with me that should not be the case until my teenage daughter, who sat beside me in the car and heard the entire conversation over the handsfree speaker, signalled to me and said "Mum, just go somewhere else!" And this is exactly what we did, we just booked in 12 driving lessons with a sweet, customer-focused "female" instructor called Julie from Albert Park, 0403260836 and she gave me a discount and even taught me how to register to get a FREE lesson :) So, if anyone of you read this review and after a "Female" instructor, you know where to find ine now and need not go thru the PAIN I went thru with this driving school!
