I wanted to share feedback about my driving lesson with instructor Kitty. I was not feeling well during the session because I felt anxious and uncomfortable at the same time , she is not approachable , as I thought the instructor are all approachable as I expected to be . I am 18 weeks pregnant, I was not comfortable with the standard driving position due to pelvic sensitivity. However, I didn’t get the chance to explain this to Kitty because the way she spoke made me even more anxious, so I just obeyed her instructions without speaking up cause I am also keen to get my licence, even I’m not comfortable and I am telling her I am not comfortable but I think she refuse to listen. She talked over me, judged my driving harshly (saying as if I’m so terrible and not thinking), and insisted on the leg positioning.
After the lesson, I experienced severe pelvic pain that lasted into the night and stopped me from sleeping properly until this evening . This has been really distressing.
I understand the need to teach proper test positioning, but a more patient and supportive approach would help anxious learners feel safe to communicate their needs especially when pregnant or not feeling well. I hope this feedback can help improve experiences for other students.

Really frustrated with their technology. Needed to change a lesson so tried to login to the online portal. Didn't work (although I know I was using the right email, it's the one that other correspondence has been sent to). Tried repeatedly to get my password redone. In the end I phoned. Selected option 4 to change a driver training lesson. It told me the opening hours then hung up on me. This happened every time I tried that extension. So I figured I would dial the extension for an insurance quote. Didn't hang up that time (surprise surprise). But they didn't pick up for ages so had to do it after work and wait over 1 hour. And because of all that I missed the 24hr cancellation window and lose my prepaid lesson. The website login and phone line are both unreliable which is really disappointing for a good Tasmanian company. And if you need to cancel a lesson start early. Go in in person if you can.

I had a wonderful experience learning with Kitty at RACT driving school. She is an excellent teacher who is patient, professional, and takes full responsibility for her students’ learning. Kitty explains everything clearly, gives constructive feedback, and makes sure you feel confident and safe on the road. She genuinely cares about her students and goes the extra mile to support them. I highly recommend Kitty to anyone looking for a reliable and skilled driving instructor!

High recommended! Also, I’d like to give a big shout-out to Henry Chen who had been my trainer for over 30 driving lessons👍
After I achieved almost full scores in my driving test with only first attempt, I got my first car, and has been enjoying driving & visiting around Tassie🐨
I tried a few driving schools around Hobart, RACT is one of my favorites. Unlike some driving instructors just ask me to drive on the road and learn nothing, Henry provided more training based on the feedback he or his colleagues gave to me each session, that made me much more confident during the test and the rest of my life😎
