John and I did this course last week-end, Sat was Bush, Sun was Beach, being first time owners of 4WD vehicle, we wanted to learn more and understand our vehicles capabilities, as well as our own. The course and Kev our instructor, was absolutely amazing, learnt so much VERY important information, I would highly recommend this course to everyone that drives a 4WD, Kev's knowledge is insurmountable, we have come away knowing the dangers, our capabilities, our vehicles capabilities, loadings, towing, recovery, mechanical, all terrain understanding, just to name a few, Just do this course, you won't regret it, it's absolutely worth it. BIG thanks to Kev, and Jan, kind regards Julie & John Cameron Read Less

Attended the 4wd Bush & Sand course over 2 days in April, some fantastic practical examples of how the different parts of 4wd system works, along with capabilities and limitations. Was fantastic to get out on the track and try some things I would never have attempted on my own. The sand course is a great way to gain confidence driving in soft sand, and learn how to avoid getting stuck, and how to self recover if you do (or not make things worse so you can easily be helped by another vehicle) Read Less

My wife and i attended the beginners and sand couse over the 10,11 feb 2018 and were so impressed with kev and trevor. They were both so patient and knowledgeable their expertise was impressive. I am a mechanic of 15 years and i learned so much. Jan who took my booking needs a special mention as well. She was excellent to deal with and her customer service was like dealing with a friend. At no time did any of them make you feel dumb with the qustions that were asked ( and i am sure that after a while it would be draining answering the same things) . Their enthusiasm for what they do makes learning exciting. Thanks Guys you all are brilliant. Read Less

I recently attended the bacic mechanic course and it was fantastic, they went in to detail of fixing various different parts and explained how everything works in 4wd’s and normal cars, they also show our family how all the 4wd systems work in our new prado and then we got to drive our 4wd through all the tracks in their facility with an instructor. If you want to learn how to do anything related to repairs, 4WDING or towing, I highly recommend this place Read Less

If you are not sure how to operate your shiny new 4WD effectively or lack confidence driving in all sorts of terrains, then I would thoroughly recommend Australian 4WD and Advanced Driver Education help you deal with your issues. Their training facility is located in bushland at Kurwongbah just north of Brisbane. I took their Low Range Bush Course and the Low Range Sand Course offered over two days on the week-end. Although both courses are targeted at beginners like myself, be prepared for a steep learning curve. Upon arrival you will be issued with a General Release and Indemnity form which you must complete, then it’s straight into business. Both courses are evenly balanced between theory and practice. There are static demonstrations which help consolidate learning. The one thing I enjoyed were the questions coming from the group which indicated that we were listening. Kev and Trevor, our instructors took time to answer our questions and concerns fully. Their willingness to share their knowledge and experience was a key aspect of the course. A white-board could have been used to explain some of the more difficult concepts, but this is a minor point. Reference to safety and safe driving habits kept cropping up. Both courses helped me reflect and evaluate my abilities to handle my 4WD is a variety of situations. I learnt that safe driving is no accident and that the driver is ultimately responsible. It was good to be reminded that most accidents are preventable. On completion of the courses you receive a Certificate of Attendance or a Statement of Attainment depending on your situation. There are questions for you to answer and handouts to read later. TIP: READ your vehicle operational manual before the course. Know the load rating of tow recovery points. Bring any emergency gear you have like jumper leads – you may need them. Come with an open mind, you just might learn something. And above all, be prepared to enjoy yourself. Don’t you be the one featured on the news or on YouTube doing the wrong thing, invest in some time and money and learn from the pros. And by the way, it was the best Christmas present my wife ever gave me! Read Less

Great course, highly recommend for beginner or skilled. Having no previous knowledge of 4WDriving all the basics were covered with clear and practical knowledge including the basic mechanics of a 4WD and all safety aspects. Course was structured so skills were built on throughout the day so when we got to the difficult terrain it didn't seem difficult at all. Such a great day, thanks Jan, Trev and Kev! Read Less
