My instructor, Babar Chohan, was fantastic. He is was patient and explained everything thoroughly. He gave all the logbook competencies reasons for their importance.

For anyone would like to drive safely throughout his/her life here in ACT, I strongly recommend National Driving Academy in Canberra as the first choice. I have been with my tutor Babar in their school to get my driving licence and get big applaud from my family members on my great improvement on road. National Driving Academy not only brings you driving skill itself; it also provides you high-level defensive road sense you can use in your daily life. As a mother with two children, I believe their tutorial philosophy meet every family's daily-base requirement for their personal transport. By the way, their price is reasonable, they have different packages you can choose. One more thing, their hot line and operators are very friendly. When I arrange my driving classes, they often share their advice with me, suggest me to allot my time on different time, road situation and weathers (you also can discuss your personal needs with you tutor, I love this). Last but least, their tutors are fantastic. My contact with their two tutors are wonderful. The first one led me through the start with worry and fear; the second one guided me till my fully confidence before my steering wheel. With my journey to my driving licence, I would like share my experience with anyone having family and strong needs to a reliable driving school because I myself count on Google to seek one good service as you are doing now. I only hope this can be one trusty information for somebody has the similar situation. Good luck, there. Read Less

DO NOT GO HERE! THIS PLACE IS THE WORST DRIVING SCHOOL I HAVE EVER SEEN! The positive reviews are all written by the instructors, I know because I recognise them. This place is a con! The driving instructor I was with is known across other driving school because of how BAD he is!!!!. My new instructor said learners quit this company every week! This company has a bad name through ALL the other driving companies. The instructor I was told me I was great driver, and then "quit" half way through. Turns out he faked quitting because he didn't know how to teach me properly, and he still works for the company! I have heard from another driving company that my driving instructor has pretended to quit with numerous students! The other companies have told me this place is terrible, and that what they have taught me is wrong. My friends have also had horrid experiences with this place. would rate NO stars if I could. Instructional standard apparently varies immensely with instructors. I have tried 2 of them and gave up. Joe Koren - Obviously drags out lessons, doesn't teach tips or summarize mistakes made, makes sweeping and not specific statements to fail each competency assessment, always late for lessons, wastes expensive lesson time to refill petrol or visit toilets. Apparently has a student with more than 40 plus hours and not yet done. Speaks a lot about the quality of instruction and how the students are being milked. After speaking to friends who were instructed by him, it turns out that he is one of the most unpopular instructors at the NDA. Stephen Jones - Had a couple of lessons and HE was driving most of the time. $78 dollars for him to drive me around Canberra is not a good deal. In the end, I re-learnt everything with a much more competent independent instructor who actually value-added my driving techniques with each lesson. Although, I had many bad habits that I learnt from previous NDA instructors to break away from. Frankly, it is not even about the money or time (though it counts), its about the eventual competence, confidence, habits and safety of the learner driver. I wouldn't even give a star if had the option. Read Less

I really didn't enjoy the National Driving Academy at all. My instructor Samson was not particularly considerate of my anxiety and actually made feel extremely nervous to drive with. He would give instructions way too late, to the point that I actually couldn't go where he wanted me to go. His teaching style did not match with me at all, there was never any constructive criticism and it was always just "Why can't you do this?" After one particular lesson where he had made me parallel park with cars trying to get past and honking me I actually came home and had a panic attack over the whole thing. When we called up the company and explained the situation they were not particularly helpful and wanted to push me over to any other instructor, not taking on the fact that I was very upset. I am now have a local driving instructor who is much more easygoing and now I'm marking off things quickly and enjoying it. I personally reccomend saving your money and going with a more private instructor instead who is more likely to be calm and actually teach you.Read Less

I notice that Babar, the director of NDA has rated his own business as 5 star and awesome! My sons experience was not quite so awesome. It took 4 weeks to get his first lesson booked in for outside school hours. A week before the lesson Babar sent a text to him asking him if he would change his lesson to the coming Monday. My son was unable to do this date and so Babar sent him a text saying "no worries, c u Saturday". When Saturday arrived NO Babar?! When we rang him ( on the number that he had sent the text to my son from) he claimed that there was no booking for my son in the diary! After several phone calls and several different excuses from Babar we decided to take our custom elsewhere and I recommend that anyone who values their time or money does exactly the same thing. Interestingly enough Babar answered a call from my son and another from me while, apparently, in the middle of a lesson. Shame on you National Driving Academy!!! Read Less
